My pick for the best cheap Chinese food in North Dallas has to be the greatness of Lee's. This is a family-run business that has been at the Southwest corner of Coit and Campbell near Cindi's for over 20 years. So what's so great about them?
1. The eggroll - their's is such a step up from the usual, thick and breaded eggroll that most Chinese places serve. You know the one I'm talking about. Lee's is almost more of a pastry - flaky and very lightly breaded. Get at least 3 of them.
2. The sesame chicken: The be-all, end-all best thing on the menu in my opinion. And that's not knocking the menu, I've never had anything bad here. The sesame chicken is just that good.
3. The wonton soup: They have a damn good one, there's no doubt. Other go-to menu items include the moo goo gai pan (lighter), the lo mein, the kung pow shrimp and the beef and broccoli.
Basically, if you need cheap Chinese delivery or take-out, check them out. I've never had a bad meal there.
